Tara Harrawood is a family law attorney dedicated to combining thoughtful strategy, strong advocacy, and a personal commitment to her clients. She understands that family law matters are rarely just legal problems—they are deeply personal events that can shape a family’s future. Tara takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, goals, and concerns, and then develops a strategy tailored to the unique facts of each case. She believes effective advocacy requires both preparation and adaptability, and she remains focused on achieving the best possible outcome as each matter unfolds. Some cases require strong, strategic advocacy in court. Others are better served through thoughtful negotiation, mediation, or creative problem-solving outside of court. Many require a combination of approaches as circumstances change. Tara focuses on identifying the strategy that best serves the client’s goals and adjusting that strategy when needed.
Tara’s broad legal background includes family law, civil litigation, business and employment law, and service as an Assistant District Attorney. This experience gives her a practical perspective and allows her to approach complex matters from more than one angle. At the heart of her practice is a belief that informed clients are empowered clients. Tara makes it a priority to ensure her clients understand the law, their options, and the decisions before them so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Earlier in her career, Tara received Elon University School of Law’s Outstanding Clinical Student Award for her dedication to client service and advocacy.
A North Carolina native, Tara was raised in a small town, where she developed a lasting appreciation for community and standing up for others. Those values continue to shape the way she practices law and the firm she is building today. As a founding partner of Harrawood Marquez, and Walle, PLLC, Tara is committed to creating a legal practice where sophisticated legal representation and genuine personal attention go hand in hand.
Outside the office, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, traveling, volunteering in her community, and spending time with their dog, Captain Jack Sparrow.
