Danielle Walle believes people deserve an advocate who is truly in their corner: someone who listens, understands what is at stake, and walks with them through difficult moments.
That belief took shape early in her life. Growing up with a sister diagnosed with autism, Danielle saw how hard it can be when someone’s needs, fears, or wishes are not easily heard or understood. That experience shaped the way she advocates today: with patience, attention, and a deep respect for the person behind the legal issue. Danielle recognizes the trust placed in her by each client needing to be heard.
Danielle also grew up in and around law firms, where she saw the role attorneys can play in people’s lives during times of uncertainty. She learned early that effective advocacy is extraordinarily powerful, but it requires more than knowing the law. It requires judgment, preparation, clear communication, and the ability to earn a client’s trust.
Today, Danielle’s practice focuses on complex family law matters, particularly high-conflict custody cases. Much of her work involves helping parents navigate situations where communication has broken down, emotions are running high, and the stakes feel enormous. She knows that when clients walk into her office, they are often worried about far more than what a court order might say. They are worried about their children, their relationships, their finances, and the changes they are facing to their visions of tomorrow. Danielle’s goal is to help clients understand their options, make thoughtful decisions, and feel less alone in the process.
Clients often tell Danielle that one of the things they appreciate most is that she genuinely listens. Before discussing legal strategy, she wants to understand what matters most to the person sitting across from her. For one client, that may be preserving a relationship with a child. For another, it may be financial stability or finding a way to move forward with as little conflict as possible. Those conversations help shape the advice she gives and the strategy she develops.
Danielle has substantial experience working with parenting coordinators, family therapists, and other professionals in complex custody matters. She is also a certified Parenting Coordinator, a role that allows her to help high-conflict co-parents implement custody orders, resolve day-to-day parenting disputes, and keep the focus on their children’s best interests. That work gives her practical insight into the challenges families face after a custody order is entered – and helps inform the thoughtful, child-centered guidance she provides to clients during litigation and settlement discussions.
In addition to custody matters, Danielle regularly represents clients in cases involving significant financial issues, including closely held businesses, business valuations, and matters requiring financial experts. She enjoys working through complicated financial questions and helping clients understand information that can often feel overwhelming. The changes that come from dividing a family’s finances carry so many unknowns and Danielle understands the import of helping clients learn and gather as much information as possible. Whether reviewing financial records or collaborating with experts, her focus is on helping clients make informed decisions with a clear understanding of both the legal and practical consequences.
Through her experience and experience with clients, Danielle knows that not every case needs to end in a courtroom. Some of the best outcomes come from finding practical solutions that allow families to move forward without years of additional conflict and expense. When settlement makes sense, she helps clients negotiate from a position of knowledge and strength. When litigation is necessary, she is fully prepared to advocate for them in court.
Her commitment to advocacy extends beyond her individual clients. Danielle is deeply involved in the legal and broader community, serving on committees for the North Carolina State Bar and Mecklenburg County Bar and volunteering her time with a particular focus on children and education. She is also a co-founder of Her Next Chapter, a support community that provides women navigating separation and divorce with practical resources, education, and connection.
Danielle’s commitment to continued learning is reflected in her education, training, and professional development. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Food Science from the University of Georgia before receiving her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, where she graduated with special honors in public service and held leadership roles in numerous organizations. She is also a graduate of the NITA Family Trial Advocacy Institute, a highly selective program admitting approximately 40 attorneys each year.
For Danielle, family law is ultimately about people. The law provides the framework, but every case involves a family, a future, and a person who has trusted her with something deeply important. Few people hire a family lawyer during a happy season. They come looking for guidance when they are facing uncertainty, conflict, or a major life transition. Danielle never loses sight of the trust clients place in her when they share their concerns, their fears, and their goals for the future. She considers it a privilege to help them navigate that transition and build a path forward.
